Film clubs are becoming more and more popular, and this is thanks in part to more sophisticated, affordable projectors. Any excuse to convene with likeminded people is surely a great thing, and there are plenty of films worth watching. So, why not host a film club?
Venue
You’ll need an appropriate venue. If you live in the big city then the chances are you’ll find somewhere suitable. Libraries often welcome film clubs afterhours, and might even be able to lend you some films to watch too.
Tell People
Once you’ve found a venue it’s important to tell people about your club. You can do this in lots of ways, however nowadays you’re going to get most exposure if you use social media. Set up a Facebook page and invite your friends.
The Projector
If you want to host a film club then you’ll need a projector. Perhaps you already have one, or maybe there is one at the venue. If not don’t despair, you can buy and even hire one at ProjectorPoint who stock all of the leading brands, such as infocus projectors.
The Films
After the projector, the films are most important. Your film club might have a theme, such as sci-fi or horror, if not then you should choose broad films that people are going to enjoy. At film clubs it usually doesn’t matter if people have seen the films before, that’s part of the fun: nostalgia, like-minded people and a great night out!
